Birthing Experience (2nd time around)

This post is 2 months overdue as i gave birth last year, November 30, to my 2nd baby. It was a super nice birthing experience. Of course I must give the credit to our Lord Father God for granting all my prayers and even gave more that what i prayed for. Its truly that if you just ask for something and you believe in Him, you will receive all of your heart desire through prayer. I initially thought that I'm asking too much from Him as I have a long list of prayer request. But the Lord God whispered to me thru a blog of someone that He is a generous God and I don't need to be deserving nor to do something so good to receive His grace. And now, i am too grateful to say that all of my prayers were indeed been granted by Him.

Here are the list of prayer request that I religiously asked from Him. I prayed for these everynight and even send these to a prayer site (Holy Spirit Adoration Sisters)

1. To have a normal and safe delivery
2. Less pain during labor or no labor at all.
3. To have a fast labor and delivery.
4. To have a health baby and with no complication at all. I even mentioned that I want my baby to have an APGAR score of 9.9
5. Maximum of 3 days stay in the hospital (to minimize hospital expenses)
6. Overall hospital bill and Professional fee to be within our budget.

Kind of a long list right? But I know that God will provide if you just ask.

So here is the start of my birthing experience. It was the night of November 29, 2012 that I felt the first stage of labor pain. Funny that I was able to report to work that day and lucky me that i don't feel any pain during my whole stay at the office. I even went to my OB's clinic to be checked since i was already 2cm dilated for 2 weeks. I was in my 37th week that time. She told me to continue my intake of buscopan to help thin my cervix quickly and to take a long walk for me to dilate faster. She also IE'd me and told me that i was 2-3cm dilated. I was a bit disappointed since i am 2 cm dilated for 2 weeks already and i am hoping that at least i was 4 or 5cm at that time. I went home after the check up and played with my first born. I think that trigger my labor pain as from time to time i am carrying my 19kgs baby during our play. I told my husband night night that i have a feeling that i am in labor since i can feel that contraction. I wasn't able to sleep the whole night as i am monitoring the interval of my contraction. It was at around 4am that I decided to pee. Right there and then i saw a blood on my underwear and both thighs. I immediately went to our room and woke up my husband to tell what's happening. I am not nervous but excited that time, i am excited because I know that the time has come and we will soon be seeing our beautiful princess. My dear husband panic when I told him the bloody show. He didn't know what to do maybe because he just came from deep sleep. hahaha! I told him to be calm and we will just wait until morning because the pain is still tolerable. I also want to stay a little bit longer in our house during my labor because I don't want to incur additional expenses in the hospital as the pain was still tolerable. At around 7am, I decided to go to the hospital since the interval of contraction became shorter and shorted. We arrived at Makati Medical Center at around 7:30am and got admitted by 8am. (Not so sure now with the time as i can't remember the exact time). The nurses and resident doctors were all polite and really took care of me. I stayed in a private labor room were i have my own LCD TV and assigned nurse to take care of all my needs. I just don't like the staff who administered the insertion of my IV. I literally felt the needle on my veins even if i took a deep breathe upon doing the procedure. The doctors gave me epitocin and buscopan to induce my labor. Then my OB, Dra. Madelene Ang-De Joya came as i experienced strong contraction. I'm super happy with my OB as she acted as my labor coach from the time she came until i was administered with epidural. I had my epidural when i was 6cm dilated, my Anes is Dr. Raphie Tuazon. My whole labor experience lasted for about 5 hours. By 1:04pm, i gave birth to my beautiful daughter Sophia Andrea G. Griego. She weighs 6.2 lbs and have an APGAR score of 9.9. Of course i need to give credit where it is due. I want to thank first my little angel, Sophia, for not giving Mommy a hard time in bringing her to the world. I was talking to my beautiful daughter the whole time of my labor to come out quickly and i was just so thankful to my little Sophie for being so obedient to Mommy. I also want to thank the nurses and doctors of Makati Medical Center for assisting me and providing me a super enjoyable and pleasant birthing experience. Honestly, pushing is really hard for me. I thought i can't make it to spontaneous vaginal delivery and i needed to request for a forcep procedure (just like what i had with my first born) but gladly, the medical staff help me out my baby in no time. I already told them "hindi ko na kaya" the fifth time they ask me to push. But to my surprise, the baby was already out! They kept on pushing din pala the baby thru their hands. I was like, oh my God! thank you so much! They gave me my baby and place her in my chest and gave her my breast to suck on. Then I fell on slumberland as i was sedated. I woke up in the recovery room and felt the same grateful feeling. I was praying the whole time and kept on thanking God for granting my wish. I had a safe and normal delivery. The labor and delivery came fast. My baby is super health with no complication and even had an APGAR score of 9.9. I stayed in the hospital for only 2 days as I don't have any complication as well as my baby. Our total expenses for the hospital bill and PFs were all within our budget. Oh i need to mention pala our initial blessing prior to delivery. I joined a paluwagan in our office without expecting that i would conceive that year. The paluwagan amount was just enough to help us finance my delivery but to my surprise, it gained an interest higher than what i expected. My paluwagan share is 44k only but i received 52k! What an unpexted blessing from You God. Thank you. Another unexpected blessing came a month after a gave birth. I only wish for our expenses to be within our prepared budget or less. But what God gave was a FREE delivery. My husband's company shouldered the whole hospital expenses and PF. God is truly amazing and wonderful! I can't thank you enough Father God.

For those who wants to know our total hospital bill and PFs, here is the breakdown.
Hospital bill - 44,000 (less 3k Philhealth - 41,000)
OB's PF - 25,000
Anesthesiologist's PF - 11,000

Total - 82,000
